Building Information Modeling

SCG Mechanical has assembled a superior team of AutoCAD detailers/designers. With over 25 CAD Stations, SCG Mechanical can produce fully coordinated and BIM compliant Mechanical Drawings. As a company that prides itself on Pre-Fabrication, the BIM process is something SCG is recognized as an industry leader.

Building information modeling (BIM) is a process involving the generation and management of a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility.

The resulting building information model becomes a shared knowledge resource to support decision-making about a facility from earliest conceptual stages, through design and construction, then through its operational life before its eventual demolition.

Participants in the building process are constantly challenged to deliver successful projects despite tight budgets, limited manpower, accelerated schedules, and limited or conflicting information. The BIM concept exhibits virtual construction of a facility prior to its actual physical construction, in order to reduce uncertainty, improve safety, work out problems, and simulate and analyze potential impacts. Sub-contractors from every trade can input critical information into the model before beginning construction, with opportunities to pre-fabricate or pre-assemble some systems off-site. Waste can be minimized on-site and products delivered on a just-in-time basis rather than being stock-piled on-site.
